Uncemented Total Knee Replacement- Rediscovering the Past

چکیده

Total knee replacements (TKR) both cemented and uncemented were developed almost simultaneously in the 1980’s. Cemented TKR found favor among surgeons due to its technical ease early failure of poor design. In past two decades; however, interest has been generated because design improvements which, turn, led better results, especially young active, obese, geriatric but active patients where TKR’s have increased rates. Active research is ongoing refine designs future holds promise for this re-emerging technique implant. This review helps summarize reasons increasing TKR, newer their results developments expected.
